Outbound is being used as a synonymous of sales outreach but I think it's confusing.
Reaching out to multiple contacts at target accounts has been proven to increase conversion rates and, those contacts might have come via inbound channels or outbound sales outreach.
I prefer using the term "sales outreach" instead of "outbound" to talk about sales reaching out to target accounts. And, I like to use the terms "inbound leads" and "outbound leads" to distinguish between leads that gave us their email vs leads that did not give us their email.
Sales outreach is the process of proactively contacting both inbound leads and outbound leads to accelerate pipeline generation.
